My almost 1 year old Maltese/Shih-Tzu mix puppy is acting aloof or scared of me.

The other day I was playing with my dog/puppy and maybe I was a little rough with her and I was swinging one of her toys around and accidently hit her in face or something and she backed away. I comforted her because I didn't mean to do hurt her and wanted her to know that but now she won't play with me or any of her toys even by herself. I hope I didn't damage her I don't know what to do to show her that it is ok and I won't hurt her again and it's ok to play with me. She's been a happy go lucky, loves to play type.
