I know alot of dogs that eat their own poo, sometimes if they want attention, good or bad.... some because they ahve alwasy done it and have abitof an OCD towards eating their own poo and even when walking dogs they will eat other dogs poo that owners haveleft behind. i eeven know of some dogs that when owners have picked up the poo they ahev shredded the pood bag to get to it or have just eaten the bag aswell......it can be weird one. try putting pinapple in his food as when it comes out the other end it tastes disgusting or when he has done a poo stray it with vingear adn see whetehr he will eat it. other ideas are putting hot chillis in his poo and seeing whetehr he will eat it as it wont be a great experience adn he hopefully shouldnt do it again. x

It could be he is not getting enough nutrients of some sort. Try a higher quality food. Dogfoodadvisor.com helps rate the quality of dog foods. Follow him with him on leash around with a poo baggy to clean it up RIGHT AWAY before he has a chance to eat it.
