Relax. Ears will do what they will. If they don't come back up, there is nothing that can change it.

There are many reasons for ears to go down and come back up. Puppies when teething, growth spurt, hormones, recent vaccinations, feels sick.

Unless he's a show dog it doesn't matter, he's still a wonderful companion.

GSD's ears naturally stand up so there really isn't anything you can do about his ear being floppy. If he's not a show dog then you really have nothing to worry about. Large breed dogs aren't fully grown till they're 2 years of age. There's a possibility that the cartilage in his ear is still trying to harden so give it time it may stand back up on its own. The imperfections of our dogs is what makes them unique in our eyes :) he's a very gorgeous boy!

It's probably too late now, but you should try taping it. Google "German Shepherd ear taping" to see some how-tos. A fair number of GSDs need help with their ears, since they have been bred to have HUGE ears compared to most prick-eared breeds like Huskies and such. While he may still be filling out and gaining weight, the ears should be in their final position by one year old.
