My 10 yr. old Lhasapoo bit my husband when he bent down to kiss her while she was lying on the couch.

Your husband probably startled her if she was resting and looming over a dog can be extremely frightening to them which could be the reason why she bit.

I agree with Boris. Leaning down suddenly in the wrong way possibly could have been seen as a threat to her. Especially with small dogs mainly. I mean, pretend your in her small little shoes. A LARGE human bean is leaning down towards you... Just to imagine it, that is quite a scare, lol.

I believe your dog saw your husbands actions as a threat to bite her. Also if she was resting. It sounds Luke he may have also scared her.
