In addition to the other posts, you might give him Machu's Blend Dog Tea beforehand. It is an herbal tea designed to help with car sickness, upset stomachs, digestion issues in dogs. Completely safe and doesn't taste bad either! My dogs like it and drink it right out of a bowl, but you can also mix it in with food.

hello one of my shih tzus does the same..she gets motion sickness and her nerves make it worse..the vet gave me some gravel to give her when i do take her out...

Schedule some play time in the car, just sitting there without going anywhere. Do very short trips, hold the Puppy up where it can see outside. Make sure there's fresh air flow for it. Increase time periods till fear/motion problems are settled.
