No, only a licensed person can give rabies shot in many states, including Alabama, it would be illegal for them to sell you the vaccine. You need to get it from a vet or a shot clinic.

here in MO we can give our own rabies shots too. Farm country...most folks have many dogs. Ususally rabies shots are pretty cheap, if the expense is a problem, maybe a shelter or sometimes vets offer "clinics" i know out here they even have "dip" clinics in the summer. Ask around, make a few calls. I don't know how many dogs you have, if it's just one, I'm sure a vet visit will be in order sometime soon, just be sure to GET his rabies shot as rabies IS on the rise. Also, get the three year shot BUT remember that it MUST be repeated the next year the first time.
Rabies Vaccine is very inexpensive our local vet supply In St. Joe sells it @ 10 doses for $13.00, three year vaccine.
If you have never given shots before, try to find a cooperative vet who will show you how to administer a shot properly, done badly you could cause an abcess. I'd say for the first go, use the vet and get a check up, the shot should only run you about $10.00 more, and ask the vet to instruct you.

Sergeant

No, it is not, and the rabies shot is usually given with the last round of puppy shots as they won’t need another for a year after that.

Dieta

nope, that's right a licensed vet only can administer this. It is a state requirement, so only those licensed for the state are allowed to have access to it.
