Is it safe for my chihuahua to eat pigs feet, and how would I prepare the pigs feet?

Pigs feet are excellent. For cleaning teeth. No prep needed. Give them to him raw.

Sure, just supervise.
Oh, and as the other guy said, feed them raw. Because cooked bones ARE dangerous. No seasonings.

Make sure the pigs feet you get are not either smoked or prepared in brine. The only ones available in our area ARE either fully cooked and smoked OR soaked in a brine solution to preserve them. Neither of these are safe and/or good for your dog to eat.

A whole raw trotter is large, about a pound. It is safer to give big bones to dogs but if it seems too large you could look for trotters that are cut in half or quarters lengthwise.
The skin is extremely tough which is one of the really good features of these things. You might make several slices through the skin to give your dog a tooth hold.
