We know he is part border collie but he definitely has something else in him..or maybe hes just a poor bred bc. He is super sweet and is always running in circles around us(herding). He loves tennis balls! He is pretty smart but not nealy as smart and agile as our other bc. He gets along fabulously with any human and child. He will bite if we take away his bone however but thats the only aggression. He doesn't bark very often. His tail curls up when he is outside and alert. He looks mostly Border Collie though.

It's such a variable breed, especially when you take into account all the "flavors" the breed comes in, working and show/performance lines, non-pedigree "ranch-bred" dogs, international differences (American vs. Euro vs New Zealand, etc). I wouldn't say an unusual-looking BC is "poorly bred"... many working breeders don't give a crap about appearance and consequently have non-standard looking dogs. BC/Heeler mixes are common and that could explain his spots and ears (though many pure BCs have them too.)
