Grass is in short supply at many airports. You should have been trained to use pavement if you have to. She can ask the airline people to let her take you out on the tarmac and use it. She should have been trained to always, always have a plastic bag with her.
Amy does need to let the airline know youare coming.
I can't believe what Labman did to me. We drove to an airport and climbed some nasty steps to get into an airplane. At the end of the flight, I had to go down then again. Then we walked and walked, going up and down in elevators time after time. finally we got to where there were a bunch of other people with dogs waiting around. Of course, the weirdos wouldn't let us play. The other dogs all had harnesses on. After a while we all piled on a bus. The next morning, he dumped me off with strangers and I haven't seen him since. I have my own harness now and have been trained to guide my trainer when he is blind folded. Xanthe

There is a website that has some good information about what is required of service dog teams and the airline personnel here:
We practiced going through a security checkpoint without actually getting on a flight. Going to the airport before you fly just to get acquainted with the environment is a good idea. Make sure you don't drink a lot of water- ask for ice cubes instead, so you can wet your whistle without having to go outside. Speaking of, you should be offered outside at least twice before getting on the plane.
