If a dog kills her puppies, will she do this every time she is bred?

This is a blue heeler that I rescued. Don't know any of the details, but supposedly she did this twice.

Pamela - Adopted!!!!

Some dogs are not meant to be mothers. It may be she was not raised with her own mother long enough, she may have determined the puppies are not healthy, or she feels there are not enough resourses (food) to raise them.

It would be better to have her spayed.

Ditto. Also could have been due to calcium deficiency, if I remember correctly.

IF she is a rescue, why isn't she spayed anyway??? Yes, not all dogs are cut out to be mothers. Frankly, in my mind, she should have been spayed after the FIRST litter!!!
