I will be dogsitting my sons German Shepard while he is out of country. She is 5 yrs. & lives with 2 adults & 1 toddler
I have a 15 mo. old Golden Retreiver female...totally non-aggressive. I have never owned a G. Shepard & worry about interactions. How to make a calm adjustment. And any other situations or problems I should deal with. I have a 5' fenced yard & she will be inside with my Golden on & off during day & in all night.

Have these dogs ever met before??? German Shepherds often have same sex aggression, especially the females, and I sure would want a back up plan if she decides she doesn't like your female golden. They can be quite vicious!

Ajax is right. Please try to set up a few meetings..on neutral ground, where the dogs can meet. Try walking them together and ending up at the house. If you are seeing any sign of tension..lip curl/twitch, ears forward with a hard stare, etc, then err on the side of caution. Have a crate handy, just in case things do go south & you need to do a crate and rotate management regime.
