I really does depend on where you are going when it comes to the quarentine rules. You should call a travel agent to see if they can contact Mexico and get the info you need. You certainly don't want to get down there and have to put him in a Kennel sown there when you get there. The best thing to do is to leave him behind with a freind or family or with a dogsitter. It may cost a bit but it will be much cheaper to leave him home then for hime to go to Mexico and get ill or have to stay in quarentine. Good luck and have a great vacation!

I'm sorry, but in this case you would have to leave him behind...

Different countries require different quarantine procedures. I am not 100% familiar with every procedure of every country, and I'm sure there are exceptions to each's rules. However, if you are going to be traveling to Mexico, and plan on being there for such a short period, it would probably be best for you to find 1) a trusted friend or family member or 2) a trusted boarding facility to care for your dog while you are away.

If you have time before your departure, take Milo to visit with the friend/family member/boarding facility as often as possible to 1) get a feel about how those people will care for him and 2) to get Milo acclimated to the temporary environment.

I may have answered this twice so Ill keep it short. They dont quarentine like that anymore. Now you go to your ver 2 months before and get a series of shots and tests. Than they give you documents to go over seas. Im assuming its the same for Mexico. A kennel near my home charges a dollar a day per pound and it MAY be the same near you. SMALL DOGS RULE! I hope Milo gets to go to Mexico. I have EXTREME seperation anxiety and wouldnt be able to leave mine.

I have seen many tourists bringing their dogs to Mexico. Milo, as any other dog older than 3 months needs proof of having his vaccines up to date. You can ask his vet to give you a certificate, be sure the rabies vaccine is included. You can import up to two dogs to Mexico without paying an import permit. Have Milo´s certificate and you shouldnt have any problem. This applies to cats too.

I highly recommend having Milo with a name tag at all time and if you have direction of the hotel you will stay at you should put it on the back of the tag.
Buena suerte!
