I would not tie him , but you can crate him. They can get tangled up in what ever you tie him with. A crate will allow him to move around comfortably and he won't get tangled up. Good Luck!

I am not in favor of having a dog left out on a tie if you are not at home. To many things can go wrong and they can get hurt

55 days old? That isn't even old enough to leave mom & litter yet. It is totally cruel to tie up a puppy..especially one under 8 weeks old. It is illegal in many areas to tie a dog out for extended periods like you mention. It is cruel..the dog could be stolen, strangle itself, or be a sitting duck for coyotes, owls, etc.
So NO..it is NOT good to tie him out. Acrate inside is much better for him
A dog pretty much learns everything in the first few months. This is a most critical period in his development and you are going to tie him up??? How much stimulation and learning is he going to be able to do tied up??
The first thing that will happen is that he will become completely tangled in the chain. (He will immediately chew thru a rope or leash). Then, he will most likely learn how to bark his head off because he is lonely, bored and frustrated.
That is, IF he isn't stolen or attacked by another animal or choked to death by the chain or worse.
NO, it most likely won't make him angry but it will certainly jeopardize his entire future.
He isn't even 8 weeks old yet... he should still be with his mother and littermates for goodness sake!
Why did you even get a puppy if you can't spend the time with him that he needs and deserves during this critical time in his life? PLEASE, do a bit more research on raising a puppy before you totally ruin this one.
This is a very young puppy you are talking about.....I can't believe you would leave a young pup tied up by himself. NO you should NOT do that!!!
Crate train him when you are not able to be with him
