I heard in this book called Rat Terrier by Linda Hibbard that Ratties are Rare breeds... it that true?? Just wondering:)

I wouldn't have though of them as a truly rare breed, since you can see them around town quite a bit. Maybe not as common as labs, etc. but not truly rare.

What happens a lot, though, is that that they are misidentified as min pins or other small breed dogs that have similar characteristics.

Something like a Kerry Blue Terrier or a Russian Otterhound are what I would classify as rare.

But, hey, what do I know!?? :-)

No I don't think they would be considered a rare breed at all!
