Coco was having this problem and someone here asked about her food. When I got her she was eating Alpo and Kibbles and Bits. That was awful. Merricks didn't do her justice either. She could clear a room.

Once I switched her to Wellness Core, he gas is so much better. It doesn't smell as bad and she is not too gassy.

I hope this helps!

If your veterinarian has ruled out a medical cause (e.g. intestinal parasites), you might consider switching to another brand of food and maybe even supplementing with a little plain yogurt and/or pumpkin. www.dogfoodproject.com is a great resource for helping choose a better quality food.

Aster

I agree about checkign with the vet. Sometimes parasites can cause the problem. If so, changing food won't help. If it is the food, you want one with a different base. if your dog has problems with say chicken, a more expensive chicken based food won't help.

For a rational, less based view than the dogfoodproject, see skeptvet.com

change his diet to some other brand or ingredient.
