I have a tranquilizer from a previous dog. Can I give acepromazine to my 10 lb yorkie on an airplane trip? I have 10mg.

Without consulting your vet, I would not do that. Not all medications are okay for all dogs, so anything that is administered to your dog should be run through your vet.

Agreed. You should never give meds prescribed for another pet. Consult with your vet on this one, please don't take the chance with your baby. Happy travels and have a safe trip.

Oh My Dog NO!! Is it very dangerous to give your dog any meds that were prescribed for another pet. You're endangering her life if you do this. You could O.D. her and who would help when you're miles up in an airplane? Please don't do this, you may not even need to tranq her. Only your vet can tell you for sure. VET VET VET!!

Definitely ask your vet. You are required to go for the health certificate prior to flying anyways so you can ask your vet then. Happy travels!
