I have a puppy who guards me from my family, humps repeatedly, and has a high level of fear, what can I do to help him?
9 months old male, shelter dog, believed to be a poodle/terrier mix.
Saw a dog behaviorist, said humping was nervous humping, and that she had not seen a level of fear as high as his in a dog as young as him except in puppy mill dogs.
Humps all the time, even going as far as to pick my leg up and humping it.
He is fear aggressive, as soon as he becomes unsure about something he attacks.
