I have a Jack Russel Pit Mix and where we have lived for 1yr now has a problem w/ his breed. What do I do?
I have a jack russel american pitbull mix.. And have lived in a mobile home park for about a year now.(and his breed was disclosed at time of lease signing) Our manager told me today that he is considered an attack dog and there insurance does not allow them in the park. She further stated it is clear in our lease no pit or pit mix. Well it doesnt. And I need a solution to fight this because my family and I would just die if we have to find him a new home.. Someone please help!!?? I dont know where to even start.

www.CAROLRYDERLAW.com has more info, albeit some of it tends to be NY-specific. Contact an animal law attorney in your area. Different areas have rules on keeping an animal that has already been there a while even in rentals that don't allow pets and/or later passed certain no pets rules, including breed-specific rules. I wish I could help more but we need to know where you are. I am an animal law attorney in NY, although coming up as Guest (newbie) but I am also a dog mommy and long-time animal rescuer. I would also melt, as most people would, if I had to get rid of one of my dogs. In NY this week, for example, a soap star, Nick Santino, whose condo passed a no pets rule (Manhattan) was harrassed so long he put Rocco the Pit to sleep then committed suicide. I am sure there were other issues and so many, including me, c/h helped him but the cold-hearted board members said some stupid things to the press, esp since they don't realize how warm-hearted pet owners (property in NY) feel.
Ask her for a copy of that in writing where it states that no pit bulls or pit bull mixes are allowed, if she doesn't give it to you or won't allow you to see it then it doesn't exist.
