I can't seem to get my neutered dog to stop marking in our house! He's 4yrs old, and we have to keep him crated. Help!
We've had him for 3 years now and just recently this has started. No new changes in environment so I have no idea why he is doing this. We have to keep him crated now which I hate because then he cries and howls. Even when he's out of the crate when we are home, we will find a spot or two on the wall and especially on our plants that sit on the floor....

Has he had a vet check? Always the place to start when new behaviours arise. Rule out utis or other kidney issues. If he has a clean bill of health, then just treat him as a puppy again. Crate/tether, frequent trips outside. A verbal interrupter like "ah-ah" can be used. Mae sure to totally clean everywhere he has marked with a good enzyme based cleaner, like Nature's Miracle. Do not use any cleaning products with ammonia..that will just encourage more marking.
