I am getting my dog neutered on the 2nd of this month. Is it ok to Travel driving 2 hours away 2 days after wards

I am getting my dog neutered on the 2nd of this month. Is it ok to Travel driving 2 hours away 2 days after wards I have to move and i need to know if its safe 2 days After he gets neutered Thanks

I think its fine. Neutering is less invasive then spaying so the dog stays one day instead of overnight so its less stressful. Most dogs recover in a day or so, sometimes it takes longer. I think its fine if you move 2 days after getting him fixed just be sure to keep him as calm as possible and not overly stressed. Ask your vet about it also to make sure its okay and if your dog needs pain meds or something. Good luck!

Personally, I'd wait. The stress of surgery and recovery added to the stress of moving would not be something I'd want to deal with on my own..no way I'd put my dog through it. Plus, finding a new vet in your new town could be a problem. And if you have a complication or infection after the surgery, you might have to find one in a hurry.

Some of it depends on what the activities you are going to be doing once you get to your destination.
Whenever I had any of my male dogs neutered they felt better each day but would get very tired very fast in the first week. Then the next week you could see they would begin to perk up a bit.
What kind of dog is it? I would think it would be easier on a smaller breed to travel so soon. You will be going away from the place where the dog feels the most comfortable and that will be stressful for him. He is going to be sore and we people and animals alike heal a lot better from surgery when we are relaxed at home with no worries I would wait till after the move and you and your dog are settled for a couple weeks. Then have him done.
I just think it is too much to throw at him all at once.

Don't worry about it if the dog rides well in the car. It may need time to sleep off being knocked out. It also needs to take it easy for a few days. My puppies always sleep in the car on drives. Good as anything to keep them quiet.

I would if possible wait and have his surgery after you are settled in your new home.
The drive wouldn't really be my first concern as long as you help him in and out of the vehicle and he stays calm during the trip.
My concern would be the actually move. Moving after his surgery will cause excitement and possible stress for him and he needs to be relaxed to completely recover from his neuter, this can take up to 2 weeks. His activity should be limited and his incision checked several times a day.
If you do decide to go ahead with his neuter, I would make sure you know where the nearest vet is, in case an infection sets in.
