A puppy will eat more food then an older dog because they need all the extra food to grow on, also they are burning up food with all the playing they do. I also feed my puppies three times a day to keep up with everything they need.

Chuckle! A 6 month old will always act hungry bc he's growing fast. I've always fed a young dog 2-3 times a day, 1/2 can dogfood mixed w/1 cup dry kibble. Also depends on how active he is. Try giving him normal plus 1/2 portion and any uneaten is left that's what his body needs. I doubt he leaves any.. The feeding table on food pkg is only a guide. Also you can supplement with some raw diet - do some research on natural foods.

I would go with what it says on the package for the weight of the pup. I would stick to all puppy food since he is still growing.
