This breed should be groomed frequently and bathed every month. Professional grooming is recommended every 4 weeks. Trim around the eyes and ears with a blunt pair of scissors and clean the eyes extensively to prevent staining. Show dogs are trimmed with scissors. The body of the pet dogs may be clipped with electric clippers though the rest of the dog must still be scissored. The Bichon sheds little to no hair and is good for allergy suffers.

The Bichon Frise doesn't shed as much as other dogs, but they do shed. They are hyopallergenic dogs.

I am a bichon and we don't shed like other dogs do but we need to have the dead hair brushed out every other day or so otherwise it will mat. We do not produce very much dander either. And we are very good looking and modest!

We dont shed silly! Our fur can come out in brushing like humans but thats about it. I do however need to be professionally groomed but brushing me on a daily basis will help with that!
