Are you asking how much food to feed or how often to feed? Generally a healthy adult dog is good with being fed twice a day. With kibble it's usually not recommended to feed once a day because that can increase the risk of bloat (a very serious illness.)
If you're asking how much to feed him, it depends what you're feeding. A low quality kibble with mainly fillers like grains, you need to feed anywhere from 4-6 cups a day for a large lab. With a healthier food (typically grain-free), feeding amounts are usually around 2-3 cups a day. Check the amount that's recommended on the bag, but keep in mind that it is just a guideline. You may need to feed more or less depending on the dog's activity levels and such.

Package recommendations are only a starting point. You may need to be feeding less now than before his growth leveled off. Your dog definitely should be narrower at the waist than the hips and chest. You should be able to easily feel the ribs, but not see them. Each dog is different. Standard recommendations are a good place to start, but each dog must have its food and exercise adjusted to its individual needs. Here is a link to a good illustrated guide, www.longliveyourdog.com

If you carefully selected your dog from lines free of bloat, there is nothing wrong with feeding a common kibble once a day. It is a common, successful practice with dog guides, and they very seldom have problems with bloat.

Two times a day is generally works well for many dogs. 3 times a day for puppies or under weight dogs that are having issues putting the weight on.

I agree with the others, as well as the *first* paragraph of Aster's answer.
Here's a site about what to look for in a dog food:

Not 100% accurate, IMO, but contains good info over all.

Its really up to what works best for you and your dog. :) Like the others have said if you feed more than once a day your dog will be less likely to experience bloat.
