the above answers were correct and excellent advice...just wanted to add that you aren't supposed to breed anything under 5lbs...CH bloodlines, good heath history, or not. Chihuahua's are tough to breed; babies are tiny, bouts of hypoglycemia are common, sizing up male/females is tricky, c-sections are common because they cannot pass pups through the birth canal so you're looking at a possible several hundred dollars of initial cost before having the litter, and then if you have a c-section, you run the risk of the pups not making it anyway. I know some excellent breeders of show Chihuahuas and it's not an easy road for even the most experienced breeders (25+ yrs). You should only breed to improve the breed, not for financial gain. If your dog doesn't come from excellent foundation, is not within standard size limits, does not have good teeth/bite, or is not conformationally correct, then you shouldn't breed her. You're taking a big risk for even your dog's health if you breed her

Since you can't answer this yourself, NEVER EVER!
If, however, you would like to become a REPUTABLE breeder, here is a basic list:

There is no need to breed chihuahuas. As of this morning, there are 5,307 homeless chihuahuas listed on petfinder.com.

You really need to do some research. If you cannot answer these qustions, how are you going to know what to do when the Mother begins labor? There are ALOT of things you need to know and do when breeding a small breed such as Chihuahuas, not that large breeds are any easier. Breeding and having Chihuahua pups require alot of time and money. Do some research and think this through!

Kobe

Im glad your asking questions and doing research. It takes around 63 days to have puppys. The best time to breed is 2 days after the female has ovulated. Good luck.

Kobe Kobe Kobe this info should be kept to yourself.(wink wink)
Maria, breeding your chihuahua is a very bad idea.More then likely things won't go right and it willl cost you$1200 for the litter to just be born and the c-section to be done.Besides the fact that there are WAY to many dogs let alone Chihuahua pup out there with no homes!
Check out the AKC standard for your breed.I can pretty most bet that your dog does not fall into the standards. Most don't.
