How do I get my dog to pee first thing in morning?

My dog loves to hang out in backyard on deck. How do I getHMOm to differentiate between playtime and pee time? I want him to go out and pee when I let him out in morning.

Some dogs are easily distracted. Have you tried putting him on the leash and walking him around?
