How can I stop these dogs from trembling? I treated them with K9 Avantix on Friday morning. Could this be the cause?
On Friday morning I took my 16lb terrier to the vet because although I didn't see any fleas, she was tearing her hair out and scratching. My vet told me that she was alergic to fleas and if there was only one it would cause the same reaction. She also gave me K9 Advantix to treat both of my dogs. I had previously used Frontline. Well,needles to say today has been a horror. My 12lb Shih Tzu is shaking like a leaf! My terrier just started to do the same. Bathed them both with DAWN and they still continue to tremor. Called the emergency vet (naturally it's Saturday) and was told that this sometimes happens and that I should wait another day. Need some help here.

I personally have never had trouble with the topical flea products, but my mother did once. She had small dogs. She never used it again. I would keep a close eye on them and if you have any further concerns, I would call the vet back. I would ask them what you should look for in a bad reaction and what you should do if any additional symptoms appear. Good Luck!

I hope you got through the bad AVANTIX experience by now. I think we should keep tabs on bad reactions to AVANTIX and report them to the company or post them here. I have a 47 pound carolina dog and when I used the AVANTIX on her she vomited! My vet said to next time not use the full dose and I took her advice. The next time I used only 1/2 dose and Sadie (my dog) had no bad reactions.
