How can I get my dog to stop barking and biting at friends?
My little shih tzu puppy barks and bites at our friends when they come to our house...how can we get him to stop?

My Chihuahua does the same exact thing, We tried everything so far expect the one that the vet, and everyone on Dogster told us: Get a trainer.
What we tried may work for you though:
1. Put the dog in another room or get a muzzle
2. When he barks or bites, put him in another room, take him back out and every time he does, put him back in, when he's quiet or doesn't bite, give him a treat. Keep repeating.

Take an empty peanut butter jar and empty a roll of pennies in it. Whenever your dog barks and/or starts to nip at someone, you shake the jar. This should distract it. For just barking, you shake the jar, if this does not distract it, throw the jar in the general direction of your dog. You want the jar to land within 3 feet of the dog. It should not take many times to break this habit.
