How best to introduce golden retriever puppy to friendly, socialised, (but spoiled so not tested yet!) 1 yr female lab

You should walk both dogs next to each other. Don't let them interact until you see them both focusing on walking.

At one year old, the dog could still be a puppy. So it may want to play with the puppy and be a bit rough with them. If you can , it is best to introduce them on neutral ground. Let them look at each other but stay close. Keep telling the older one that the puppy is now part of the family, and you have to be nice to them. Do not forget the older dog. Keep giving them a lot of attention so that the chance of getting real jealous of the new one. Do not get after her if she gets to rough, but do call her off and try to calm her. this is the way we always introduced new puppies and have had good luck with it.
