Hi; A friend of mine owns a pitbull mix in Chicago IL. He's had her almost 2 months now and the week he got her, a guest accidentally left the back door ajar and she got out. She bit another dog but NOT a human. The owner of the other dog jumped IN BETWEEN the 2 fighting dogs and got bitten herself; by her own dog. Animal Control was called, but they dropped the case since it was her own dog that bit her, our dog showed no aggression towards humans and has no history, she's been vaccinated, and we even subjected her to the 10 day rabies quarantine. Beyond all that, her owner was happy to pay for any hospital/vet bills incurred by the "victim" and his insurance plan covers it all. He also is happy to pay for dog socialization classes since this dog IS a rescue dog, and HAS been abused. Despite all this, the other dog's owners and the condo association he lives in are fighting to have his dog removed right now; even though he's agreed to move out when he finds a place.
