Having eye problems with my dog. The inner eyelid is inflamed and I have already tried drops for conjunctivitis.

She seems to get a lot of mucous, clear sometimes yellow. There is a lot of dust around here and she is always getting sand in her eye. And one other thing, I am in Mexico and I think they are limited with their diagnosis and treatments. Any thoughts?

Oh poor girl. :o(

Try to look in her eye. Look closely, maybe even with a magnifying glass, see if you can see anything that may be stuck in the lid, or beneath the lid. If you see anything, then that could be the problem. It is probably getting infected.

If this is the case, then you should be able to take her to a vet and tell them what is wrong, without having to have testing done. The vet should be able to remove the object, give you some ointment and maybe an antibiotic to help the infection go away. You will be able to avoid the whole testing/diagnosis regime since you will have found the problem yourself. I would highly suggest having it removed by an expert though, unless your dog is super trusting and will allow you to safely remove something from her eye.

It could be allergies as well. Yes they will cause infection, discharge etc. Again, a vet should be able to give you an ointment/antibiotic and may suggest giving benedryl till the allergen is gone.

Good luck!!
