Has anyone had any problems with flea and tick products? If so what and for how long?

I've never had any problems. Collies and Shelties can't use products with a certain ingredient (forgot what it's called) if they have the MDRI gene, as it can cause them to experience seizures.

Jake

I have had problems with Revolution. It's supposed to be a flea, tick, and worm preventative all-in-one.

It never worked for us. My boys were covered in fleas and ticks. So we switched to Frontline. Never seen another flea on them!:)

Cash

Cash cannot have topical Flea treatments put on him. He has sensitive skin, and will scratch himself raw if given the chance.
Test every flea treatment on your pup before you give a full dose to your dog, to make sure you won't have any bad reactions.

Both our girls and previous dogs have always used the topical preventatives, until Gracie's hair fell out, in that spot only. We stopped using it and her hair grew back. the vet said she'd only seen this a few times. Now she takes the old fashion pill, coz our area necessitates we have something, at least in the summer. With the pill, a flea must actually bite her, to die. Not the best, for certain, but it's what she is able to tolerate.
