That's wonderful! I'm very happy for you! However, the previous poster is correct-please try to keep a close eye on Griffin from now on for the safety of him and others. You should try to work with him on the 'come' and 'stay' commands. Once he has those mastered INSIDE WITH MINIMAL DISTRACTIONS, then you can begin to go to a fenced area, or a non-fenced area, but still using a super long leash, with distractions. Eventually, you should get to the point where you're somewhere with a LOT of distractions (a dog park, for example), and, without a leash, treats, or anything-just your voice-he should be able to 'come' and 'stay.' Good luck!
If you have any questions, just let me know!
Lots of Licks,

Hello Griffin, It's great you got him back. I know what it's like to lose a dog. Jax never learned to come back when she gets loose. She is a runner when she has freedom. It's like losing a kid when their gone. I've spent hours before looking for her when she got out.

Thank goodness, you must be so relieved!
When I was born, my parents got a Basset Hound. When Jeffery and I were almost 5 we moved across town to a new house. Jeffery used to go back to our old house about once a month.
Our old neighbor was the mailman in our new neighborhood. He would find Jeffery nextdoor and bring him along on his mail run, returning him to his new home.
I think the first time was an OOPS! After that, I think Jeffery did it to get another ride in the mail truck.
Our pups do make life interesting!
