doggy doors and fostering ..

i will be fostering a puppy [2 mths old] this week, im guessing he needs to bee house trained, but the thing is we have a doggy door for my current dog, and when my mom is at work or out we leave the doggy door in so he can go whenever he needs, would it be a bad idea to teach the puppy how to use the doggy door and go to the back door and though the doggy door when he needs to go? would that be harder for him when he goes to a forever home? or would it give him the idea to follow my dog outside through the doggy door and maybe it will make it easier for him to learn that way?

get some cooked chicken breasts or ham and feed him all the way through the door.
Do this several times but expect him to forget of course and have accidents. Excellent idea

I don't think it will hurt at all to teach him to use a doggy door. Perhaps his forever home would follow suit, if they were to see how well they work.

Even if not, if the dog knows not to pee inside, he will let the new owners know, when he needs to go.

Having an older dog there can help teach a puppy. If the puppy sees the older dog go through , they wonder what happened and may follow them through. The last two puppies i had, i did not have to train them at all. They learned from older dogs. But i have also done the have two people on both side of the door and just try to get the puppy to go in out with treats or holding the door open so they can go through it.
