Dog pees only when going into or coming out of crate, not while I am out, please help!
My dog is 5 months and is crated at night and while I work (five hours a day). He does not ever pee in his crate during either of these times, and I always make sure he gets exercised and walked immediately before going in the crate.
He does not like going in, so I gently lead him on leash and have been feeding him in there and giving him treats, but there is NO WAY for me not to put him in while I am sleeping or working due to agreements with the house's owner.
When he first goes into the crate, he releases a small spurt of urine similar to excited or submissive urination, even after being out. He also does this when I open the crate to let him out.
I am not leaning over him, I am down on his level. I also do not make eye contact or speak to him at this time, but move slowly and calmly to make the situation unthreatening and unexciting, but no luck.
If he is in the room and I move to put him in the crate he pees on the floor, so he goes on leash directly into the crate.

try carrying the crate outside with him in it. He is excited coming out and has a hard time with his little bladder.
It is normal for puppies to urinate when excited just keep trying.
Keep feeding in the crate when you are home leave the door open and toss pieces of food in it.
Have a friend come over and take the dog out. Or hire a day care sitter.
Plenty of kids will be out of school and would love to make extra money. Post ads in the petstore for summer kids to walk and earn money
For picking him up you can wrap a towel a hand towel under him so he can't squirt you. Just fold a hand towel length wise and place it in your palm with the other hand raise him up and then put the towel there.

You definitely have the right idea to make the situation non-exciting. There's no use repeating, so, I agree with the last statement.
