Just Google "animal mortality insurance" you'll get loads of links to companies that offer it. Some also cover theft or disability as well as outright death of an animal. Just be sure to read the fine print for loopholes. Most forms I've looked at are talking about either police working dogs, competition horses, or valuable breeding livestock, but you should be able to find a company that will write up a custom policy to cover your service dog. Keep in mind, you will probably have to have proof of his monetary (not emotional) value, such as his purchase cost from a breeder or trainer, cost of professional training, etc. Cold, yes, but that's how it is. Otherwise, unscrupulous people could claim any pet is a valuable service animal and collect when it dies.
