Do Puppies lose their teeth? And Why does my pup wake up at 4 am every morning?

I have a 4 month old Bichon Frise. Today I noticed two of her bottom teeth were gone! I am very worried, I wasn't sure if pups lose their teeth like humans, or not? Her teeth are tiny as it is, and now it looks weird with two missing teeth. Also, she sleeps in bed with me everynight. She goes to bed just fine after she settles down, but every night without fail, she wakes up at like 4 am and starts running around and barking and wanting to play. Does anyone know what would m ake her wake up like this? There are no noises, I have no idea why she does this, but its really annoying. Thanks~!

Yes, puppies go through 2 sets of teeth (3 including milk teeth but we don't really count those.)
Around 4 months old your pup is probably losing her puppy teeth. Her permanent adult teeth will be coming in over the next few months.

As for the silly 4 am behavior, sounds like a typical case of puppy zoomies. Make sure she doesn't eat too close to bedtime, and try to exercise her to wear her out before bed. You could also try crate training her so she will sleep by herself throughout the night, although she will probably grow out of this silly habit.

Yes, it is normal for puppies to lose their teeth starting about 4 months.

As for the 4 Am nonsense, check for something that could be giving her a clue. We once discovered the growth light on a timer for a plant was waking our puppy at 5 AM. Trust me, we reset the timer. You may have something you can eliminate or delay. Early rising neighbors are hard to fix.

I have all of my oldest dogs puppy teeth. They usually came out while playing tug-o-war or chewing on something. So yes, it is normal.

As far as 4 am playtime, just do lots of physical exertion before bedtime. Even if you have to wake her up. Don't allow her to have a long nap atleast 3 hours before bedtime. Changing her routine to play more late at night before bed, should keep her sleeping peacefully through out the night.

My youngest dog Gidget is hyper-active. I have to play with her up to 10 or 11 at night, even if she has played all day with her brothers. She is exhausted by bedtime, and has established a routine to sleep late in the mornings. This works out perfectly. I am able to get my housework done and breakfast over with, before she gets out of bed.

So try reducing nap times during early evening, increase activity late evening. See if that helps. It might take a few nights for the routine to have a physical effect, but the need for sleep will prevail. Good luck!

Dieta

nothing to worry about, dogs shed teeth in puppy hood. You can provide ice cubes or crushed ice.
That will keep swelling down and help the hurt.
Waking up at 4 am is pretty normal.
Keep her awake in the evening as much as you can til bedtime. My dog did the same thing wanting to play in the wee hours. It was kinda of annoying after a bit but they can't help it.
I would take her out and then buy some really tasty chew things like huge raw hides. remember any chew items can be a choke hazard, supervise and throw them out if too worn down.
You can also freeze some treats before bed to throw down in the kitchen for her to spend the rest of the morning at until you wake up for work.
You can freeze water with meat and cheese pieces or whatever you have handy. I place them in a stainless steel bowl in the freezer, this should keep her busy in the wee hours.
