Do female dogs (age 5 years) still bleed sometimes even though they have been spayed?

They should not be bleeding after they have been spayed. The only way they can have a heat even if they're spayed is if a part of the ovary, fallopian tube or uterus has not been removed from the body it can stimulate the dog to got into a heat even though they have been through the spay procedure. Get your dog to the vet ASAP. Good luck!

No. It could be some infection or something else could have gone seriously wrong while she was being spayed, or your vet lied to you, saying he/she spayed her, but he/she really didn't. Just in case she is not fully spayed or is not spayed at all, avoid contact with males, who may be tempted to mate with her and you could end up with an unplanned litter of puppies that may be dangerous to the female. I would take her to a different vet, where they can determine wheather or not she is fully spayed or spayed at all, and if need be, respay her. Also, if this is an infection, they can treat her.
