Do catahoula leopard dogs tend to have a low set tail?

I am trying to figure out if my little girl might be a purebreed. Everything i have read so far on the breed is what my puppy is currently exhibiting. So if anyone has more information, im will be an avid student.

Thanks!

I don't know, but she looks purebred to me. Even if a low tail isn't in the Catahoula standard, that doesn't mean that Ceecee isn't purebred. The breed standard is just that, standard. Not every purebred dog follows their breed standard very closely. In fact, no dog fits their breed standard perfectly. This is partly because not everyone gets the exact same mental picture of the dog that the standard describes when reading the standard. Good breeders strive to breed dogs closest to the breed standard as possible. (You can learn more about good breeders on our page.)
Look at pictures of Catahoula purebred and mixes to get an idea of the breed's looks. That will help you decide if Ceecee is purebred or not.

Hey CeeCee! You are a member of our group Catahoula's that Love to talk and have Fun! I have some links on our page that go to websites with more information on the Catahoula Leopard Dog. Also, hit Louie up for more information (he's another Admin for our group) he's VERY knowledgeable about 'houla's.

As far as the tail thing goes... everything I've seen shows the Catahoula with a high set tail. They carry their tail high and curled over their back. Kind of like I do. ;-P But, I'm just a mix.

Licks!! See at the group!
