Did anyone watch the Dogtown special on NatGeo about the "Michael Vick Dogs" that premiered last Friday night?
OMG.......if you haven't seen it, you should. Although you shouldn't watch it if you are very sensitive to dog cruelty. This show is very informative and gives you an inside look on dog fighting, how dogs involved with dog fighting cope, and their rehabilitation. Tomorrow, I will be posting the full story (from my point of view) in my diary and in the forums. It's just a sad situation and my heart goes out to those dogs. Please be sure to read my diary tomorrow and in the forums to find out what happened to the dogs.

Yeah, I saw a portion of it but unfortunately it was the middle and neither the beginning nor the end. I'm interested to see if any of the dogs were successfully adopted out or not. I know one of them was court ordered to remain at Dogtown regardless of retraining/rehabilitation.
I agree, it's a sad sad state of affairs but unfortunately it's so wide spread and those involved dont see anything wrong with it. I believe it shows what a downward trend the US is in regarding morals and ethics.

I didn't see that one, but I did see the one on Animal Planet (Animal Witness) a couple of weeks ago. I thought it said some of the dogs could be adopted, some were in the process of rehabilitation, and some had to stay permanently at the rehab/sanctuary facility. But I don't remember for sure since it was a while ago . . . and I'm sure there are probably some updates as well.
Tiffy, thanks for posting the info. I don't get NatGeo anymore (my cable company switched it to a more expensive package), and it's an interesting story that I would like to learn more about.
