Clicker training multiple tricks?
Is teaching more than one trick at a time a bad idea? Right now we're working on one trick, where he simply turns his head to the right. "Look right!" is the cue, and I plan to teach him "look left" another time.
Thing is, I've always wanted to teach him "crawl", and it wasn't until we started working on "look right" that I noticed he would crawl to get at a treat in front of him, which is something he never did before when I tried to lure him into it. It seems like a perfect opportunity to train "crawl" but I don't want to confuse him, clicking for something totally different all of the sudden. How should I go about this??

I don't think so. Sometimes it actually helps the dog because sometimes your dog might get disinterested in learning one trick, then you can go back after teaching another trick. Hope this helps!

Finish the current command and reward him for that. Then try to use the same thing (without a vocal command) to make him crawl.

Ooooookay.
Did you learn how to clicker train?
The clicker is a positive reinforcement substitute, an audible treat if you will.
It does not matter what you are teaching him. It is good to click in approval for all behaviors you like. Whether it's new tricks or well established good habits, click away.
