No. Tylenol, like other human medications, are not okay for dogs. I, too, have given children's Aspirin to my dogs, but only after consulting my vet. It is important that your vet is involved in any self-medication thing you are considering because you need to make sure that whatever you are considering administering to your dog is going to be okay for him. Yes, the children's Aspirin was okay for some dogs, but other dogs may have reactions to it, just as humans would. Discuss with your vet about things you can do for your older Doxie. You can also give him some glucosamine or joint supplements if that is why you are wanting to administer Tylenol. But also consult with your vet before doing that as well, as those things are not made for every dog and every situation. Best of luck.

Agreeing with Jack. No Tylenol EVER for a dog of any age. Check with your vet before giving your dog any OTC medications.

No. Tylenol, like ibuprofen (motrin, advil) is toxic to dogs and can be deadly.

Baby asprin (or low dose aspirin) is okay, but please check with your vet first before giving any over the counter people meds to your doxie.

If the pain is back or arthritis related, your vet might have somthing more suitable....at the very least, they can give you the correct dosage of aspirin for your dog.

Good luck.
