Can puppies get Parvo and show symptoms one day and be perfectly fine the next by playing and eating normally?

My puppy tested positive with Parvo yesterday. He had been acting sluggish and no appetite for about 24 hours. I knew something was wrong so I took him to the vet. After we left the vet's office we came home and he started playing again. He has his appetite back. He's back to "normal". Was the vet lying? Do the symptoms go away and then come back. Did he beat it? I'm confused!

no it would not be fine it would be dead in 3 days I have seen it to be sure retest if the animal dies in 3 days I would sue the vet for the charges you had for test and pain a suffering since they didn't do anything and let the animal go. NO VET would let a dog go if it came up possitive for parvo it is a awful thing to watch a dog die of this. I have seen it a few times. the dog is sick then doesn't eat thenis on one side or the other and then dies 3 DAYS TIME. Act fast this is nothing to fool around with ASAP

I MMEAN IT!!!!!

No, all dogs DO NOT die from Parvo!!!! Depending on his immunity status and his vaccinations, it IS possible he tested positive just from that.
However, Parvo affects all dogs differently, just like the common cold affects everyone differently. You and I can catch the same cold virus... you may be sick in bed with a fever and be very ill while I may have a sore throat and slight cough. We would both test the same on a "cold" test if there were such a thing.
The important thing to remember is that he can and most likely will be still shedding the parvo virus in his stool and is contagious to other dogs he may come into contact with so be sure to keep him away from places where other dogs frequent.
Starbuck... WHY would the vet keep the dog and give it all kinds of drugs if it didn't need them??? That would be more likely malpractice than sending a mildly ill dog home, IMO. There is no one treatment fits all when dealing with ANY viral infection. Treat the symptoms only!
