I would suggest looking more closely into Raspberry Ketones and the study that is being referenced by people like Dr. Oz. The study was performed with rats who were given a high fat diet, where 2% of the diet was supplemented with isolated raspberry ketones.

To keep things in perspective, keep in mind that the average human eats 4.7 lbs of food a day and would require 42.64 grams of isolated ketones. If you want to just eat fresh raspberries, a human would need to consume 37.61 POUNDS of raspberries.

Assuming your pugs eat 1 cup of food a day each, and that cup equates to 453.59 grams (1 lb), your pugs will need roughly 9 grams of isolated raspberry ketones ...or roughly 8 POUNDS of fresh raspberries.

Most raspberry ketone supplements do not contain the amounts needed to see the benefits as referenced in those studies. I work in the vitamin/supplement industry and have yet to see anything higher than 250-500 mg.

Please don't give your pets any drugs or supplements meant for humans without a vet's okay. Not all the info on the internet is reliable, especially if it's promoting the product in question.

The best way to promote weight loss in dogs is probably a high-protein, low/moderate fat diet, measured out exactly to your dog's needs (NOT free-fed), combined with exercise. Start easy at first (short, slow walks) and work up to longer, more intense walking/jogging. Swimming is also great. Be careful exercising flat-faced breeds like Pugs since they often have trouble staying cool and getting enough oxygen, and their body build makes them poor swimmers. Get a canine life jacket if you plan to do that.

Weigh your dog every week (with an accurate scale, such as at the vet's office) to be sure you're on track.
