I start training all my dogs at 8 weeks old. It may seem early, but it is actually the best time to start teaching them things as they learn easily when they are young. Just keep training sessions short, say no longer than 3 to 5 minutes at first and always end on a good note. If you keep sessions short but train 2 or 3 times a day, your pup should learn all her basic commands within a few weeks.

Absolutely, especially to redirect when she is doing something you do not want to have as an adult, ie jumping, biting, etc.
Also Shep is right on with the amounts...keep it fun and keep her happy.

Deogie's training started the moment he first walked through my door at 10 weeks. Training was fun, positive and taught in few minute sessions. I always have a blast teaching Deogie something new, when he finally gets it, what a feeling.
Have a good one.

Yes, the sooner the better. BC's are very smart and love to learn. It's when they don't have enough to do that they get into mischief.
The first thing they learn is how to understand humans, which she is doing well at already.
You can teach sit, down and stay. Reward behavior you like. Distract her from any behaviors you don't want her to do, then redirect her to a good activity.
Look up methods of positive dog/puppy training online.

I would definitely start training Barney now! He is old enough to start retaining and learning new information. Just remember to keep sessions short and fun! Be patient and stay consistent!
Congrats on your new pup! He sure is a cutie!

you can train 8 week old babies lots. It is never too late or too early to start.
no's will become boring and then the dog can actually ignore you.
There is some great classes out there, just start any where. Little basic things will really help her.
There is also tons of books online geared for positive training with or without clickers.
I start out with baggies of chopped meats. I make one day training day and start out in the morning with my baggies. You can prepare them the night before.
I would recommend a puppy class. Call AKC for places or look online for classes in your area.
good luck

Definitely. I think it's a good idea to begin training as young as possible.
Start with basic obedience: Sit, down, stay, and come.
Also make sure she's gets used to walking on a leash, if she isn't already. But don't go on walks outdoors until she gets her puppy shots.
Remember that puppies will have a short attention span. Keep training sessions short and upbeat.
