You can put vaseline on a dog's paws, but it doesn't absorb very well and will leave goo marks on the floor. A product a highly recommend instead is PETfection Paw Cream. It is 100% Organic and Non Toxic, and is excellent at moisturizing the pads and toes. You can also use it on any other dry spot, cut, or rash too. Check it out at www.mypetfection.com for more info. Hope this helps!

Hi There!

We carry several balms/lotions that can be used on your pup's skin and paws after bathing. Our first question is what you are using the vaseline for - is it to soften or heal your jack russell's paws? Depending on the issue, you may need to seek the advice of a veterinarian. If it is for basic moisturizing, you can find many products in your local pet store or you can check them out on our site - shop.k9scrubclub.com that are specially formulated for your pup.

Cheers,

Oi. No no no to Vaseline! Vaseline has petroleum and other toxic chemicals in it and dogs lick everything including themselves and so any healing or lubricating salve you use for him (in this way dogs are so much more sensitive and fragile than humans who do not lick themselves!) NEED to be organic / natural and free of petroleum byproducts.

Natural organic healing salves (pet one made by HALO, very very similar in consistency to vaseline but safe), others made for humans at natural health food stores or on the internet-- read the ingredients!), Mushers Secret paw wax is a good protectant and lubricant and safe for dogs.

You can make a salve yourself with the simple ingredients of organic olive oil, bees wax, lavendar, comfrey and plantain leaves that works wonderfully for both humans and dogs. Feel free to email me at leung.norell at gmail . com for the recipe if you're into that kind of thing =)
