Melon will not hurt your pup--dogs don't digest plant cells very well so it's not as though they will be getting much nutrition from the fruit...but shayne LOVES and will work for most fruits because they are yummy.

They are high in sugars so they may not be great for diabetic dogs, but they are fine to add to most dogs' diets.

I will say some dogs do not take too well to certain fruit (a friend of mine cannot have cherries)... and citrus is generally not the best thing to feed. Also avoid grapes and raisins, apple cores, pear cores, pits of fruits.

Except for grapes and raisins, most fruits and vegetables at the worst will cause loose bowels. However, there is no good reason to give dogs this and that. Nearly all your commercial dog foods are carefully formulated to give dogs a complete and balanced diet. Adding things can at best upset the balance.

Unlike dogs, most of us might do better to eat more fruits and veggies.
