Am I a Black Mouth Cur or a Shepherd mix?
We adopted Cooper in November from an adoption center in Long Island, NY. They told us he was a rescue from Virginia. When we got him they said he was a Shepherd mix. We have been trying to figure out what he might be mixed with since we got him. Recently someone told me about the Black Mouth Cur breed. They are not common in the north and nobody I spoke to up here has heard of them, and I never heard of them before either. After doing research about the breed I am convinced he is all, or most BMC. It could be possible that a purebred litter of BMC's were rescued from Virginia and sent to NY to be adopted. Right??

Hard to say, I have a friend who looks very similar and he is a great dane/boxer mix.

I don't see any gsd or bmc there. Lol i see boxer, maybe lab. Whatever he is, he is adorable.

I'm with Wiley, doesn't look like any BMC I have ever seen and honestly, I don't see the shepherd either.

You can always ask the vet to determine what breed or breeds he is.

I'm seeing maybe some boxer or Rhodesian Ridgeback? Those paws are very small, neat, and tidy...not much like a Cur would have...
I don't really see Shepherd though...
He is a beautiful dog though. :)
