Yup, it works. Tobacco kills the dog and therefore the worms die, too.
Seriously, why in the world would you even think of giving your dog tobacco?? It is poisonous when ingested, especially to a dog who has a different digestive system than a human.
The safest thing is to take a stool sample to your vet to be examined for worms. IF the dog has them, your vet will prescribe the proper de-wormer for the particular worm your dog has.
There are many, many kinds of intestinal worms that affect dogs and the same wormer doesn't work for all worms, you need the one to kill the worms that YOUR DOG has.
