I'm afraid there is no way for us to tell long distance - if you are not getting satisfaction, you need to see another vet.

I also have had this problem with one of my Yorkies and found out it was because she had been eating dirt. I watch her closely now and it seems to be helping.

Dieta

request a vet to do an x-ray.
You might want to find a vet who will do all he can when there is a problem

Try giving him probotics w/his food - sound like irritable bowl to me

Snickers

This cycle with weight loss, slimey poop, vomiting - all sounds like he has an intestinal parasite like Whipworm, Hookworm, or Giardia. (link):

He has either not been successfully treated for these parasites, or he is re-infecting himself due to parasites in his enviroment.
Giardia is difficult to find in a stool sample. Find an old wise Vet who has seen it all and knows by SYMPTOM what the dog has. To many of these hot-shot new Vets TEST. With humans you have to test and get a diagnosis - or no meds. Not so with pets! No ethics rules to prevent treatments on symptoms without positive tests to support diagnosis. (whew)
Hope he is better soon.
