2 1/2 year old vizsla still jumping every time someone comes over... how can we train her not to?

She gets so excited every time someone comes over and jumps like a maniac. It takes a few minutes for her to calm down but we don't want her jumping anymore especially since some people we know, aren't "dog people." How do we get her to stop jumping?

Train her to sit to greet people. She gets lots of love and attention that way and not when she jumps.

You can always try a shock collar and use the noise setting. If the noise setting doesn't work you can switch to a low shock. You'll have to work with her regularly so stay patient. Good luck!

first train her yourself not to jump turn into her when you come home from work, store, or wherever. as you turn into her say "off" once she learns "off" get an small rug and train her to sit there when people walk into the door. if she moves before the door is open dont open the door put her back in her spot. Make a command for the spot where she goes. Once she stays in that area after the door is open then the person can choose if they want to greet the dog or not. if she starts to jump again say off and tell her to go back to her spot. or remove her temp. then bring her back into the room.
